Peter Hammond

An early member who did very little actual flying but was a huge contribution to the club.
Peter was a great asset to the early tow development, being often available as a winchman. Mike Lake and Peter spent many hours discussing various bridal configurations, speculating on their possible flight characteristics.
Also helped (including with finance) an experimental remote control link from glider to winch.
Peter was an early, possibly the very first, relatively inexperienced guinea pig to have a ‘go’ at tow training.

Chairman july 1976
Known for his PR capabilities. Rather good at obtaining tow sites for the club.
Watton in ???? and Raf Sculthorpe in 1985
